On February 1, 1953, Georg H. Endress, a Swiss engineer, and Ludwig Hauser, a German banker, founded L.Hauser KG in Lrrach, Germany, the predecessor of today's Endress+Hauser.The company started out selling a new type of capacitive level sensor made in the UK.
